Windows

Note for Windows 10 users: Drivers for the USB2-E100 and USB2-OTGE100 are pre-installed in Windows 10, and there is no need to download drivers here. Just plug in your adapter, wait a moment while the driver is set up, then access the network. If you have any problems with this, please contact us at support@plugable.com.

If you wish to pre-install drivers before your adapter arrives, just download and run the utility from the link below:

Dub e100 windows 7 signed driver

After downloading, simply double-click on the .exe file to begin installation. You will receive a confirmation that the process has begun, and another upon successful completion- this should take less than a minute on most systems.

Windows 8, 8.1, and 10

Drivers are built-in. The adapter will be automatically recognized and installed on most systems.

Note: ARM-based Windows 8/8.1 tablets such as the Microsoft Surface RT do not have drivers for the ASIX 88772 built in. ASIX does not provide a Surface RT compatible driver for installation.

Windows 7, Vista, XP

Windows 7, Vista, and XP will automatically install drivers from Windows Update if connected to the Internet. For manual installation, just download, save, and run the file below:

A driver CD-ROM is also provided in the packaging with the product.

Mac

OS X versions 10.6 – 10.13 have been tested to work well using Apple’s in-box drivers. Installing drivers should NOT be necessary, and is not recommended for recent versions of OS X. In case the in-box drivers do not work, we have provided the following drivers below:

To install the ASIX 88772 driver on OS 10.5 through 10.14.x, download the driver from the link below:

  • Mac OS X Universal Binary Driver (DMG file format)
  • For Mac OS X 10.5 – 10.14.x
  • Note: macOS 10.13-10.14.x requires users to manually approve 3rd party extensions (drivers). Step-by-step instructions for doing so can be found in our blog post here

Android and Linux

Android versions 4.0 and later have the driver built-in to builds from Google, although individual Android device manufacturers sometimes disable this support. Whether driver is left enabled is up to each device maker. For example, we’ve found that all ASUS Android tablets (TF200, TF300, TF700, etc) tested to date have support for the driver, however none of the Samsung (Note, Note2, Tab, Tab2) devices we’ve tested had driver support.

Advanced users running rooted devices or custom ROMS like Cyanogen mod aren’t supported by Plugable, however may be able to obtain community support from sites like XDA developers.

Drivers are built into Linux kernel 2.6.35 and higher.

Source code for advanced users familiar with compiling and installing drivers using kernel 2.6.14-2.6.34 and early 3.0/4.0 kernel versions is available at the download link below:

For older Linux kernels 2.6.9-2.6.13, instead use:

Nintendo Wii & Wii U

Drivers are pre-installed on Wii and Wii U, so the only setup needed is to configure the console to use a wired instead of wireless connection as described here by Nintendo. Please let us know what error code is reported if you run into issues.

Other OS Platforms

See the ASIX AX88772 driver download page for complete list of drivers and supported platforms for the AX88772 chip in the Plugable USB2-E100 and UEB2-OTGE100, including minimal .inf packages for suitable for Windows deployment.
